The Facebook Premium Downloader API retrieves downloadable media from public Facebook Reels and videos.
How it works (Download):
1. Call Download with a Facebook URL and format. You receive an id and progress_url.
2. Poll progress_url every 3–5 seconds until progress is 100.
3. Use download_url from the progress response to retrieve the media (typically MP4 via Facebook CDN).
Video Information returns metadata (post/video ID, title, author, duration, engagement metrics when available, thumbnail) without completing a full media download workflow when cached/available.
Scope:
- Supported: public Reels (/reel/…), Watch (/watch/?v=), Videos (/videos/…), and fb.watch/… links.
- Not supported: Facebook Stories, private/login-required content.
- format is required for Hub compatibility (mp4, 720, 1080, etc.); the API returns the best available Facebook CDN URL (no server-side quality conversion or audio extraction).
- Progress polling uses the progress_url from Download (not a separate marketplace endpoint).
Use the download_url from progress to fetch the file. Do not expect the Hub to proxy binary media responses.
The Download endpoint returns an ID and a progress URL for tracking the download status of public Facebook Reels and videos. The Video Information endpoint returns metadata such as post/video ID, title, author, duration, views, likes, thumbnail, and source URL.
Key fields in the Download response include "id," "progress_url," and "message." In the Video Information response, important fields are "post_id," "title," "duration," "likes," "image," and "url."
The Download endpoint accepts a "format" parameter for Hub compatibility, allowing users to specify desired formats like mp4, 720, or 1080. The Video Information endpoint does not require additional parameters.
The response data is structured in JSON format. Each response contains a "success" field indicating the request status, followed by relevant data fields specific to the endpoint, such as metadata for videos or download progress information.
The data is sourced directly from public Facebook Reels and videos. The API retrieves media URLs from Facebook's CDN, ensuring that users access the most current and accurate content available.
Typical use cases include downloading public Facebook Reels and videos for offline viewing, retrieving video metadata for analysis, and integrating Facebook media into applications or websites.
Users can utilize the returned data by monitoring the progress URL to track download status and using the download URL to fetch the media. Metadata can be used for displaying video information or analytics purposes.
The Download endpoint provides information on the download process, while the Video Information endpoint offers details about the video, including its title, duration, engagement metrics, and thumbnail image.
